Caintech were contracted by Balfour Beatty to undertake the works spanning 271no L3 132kV towers. The works involved the setting out of the new overhead line, working with drilling and foundation squads. We also undertook the surveys of all the site Borrow Pits using one of our UAVs, this meant that no surveyors had to be exposed to the high risk environment where there were steep rock faces and many heavy vehicle movements. The use of the UAV also afforded Balfour Beatty with the current imaging of each of the Borrow Pits, meaning that material variations could be recorded during stocktaking and planning of works.
